APP certifies professional ski patrollers and publishes resources for patrollers and the patrol units they serve — built by working patrollers since 1969.
APP serves professional ski patrollers. Membership and certification reflect the context of professional patrol employment.
Proctored testing domain by domain, evaluated by proctors certified in the domain they test.

APP publishes resources for professional patrollers and patrol units: reference material for training, preparation for certification, and a shared vocabulary for patrol operations across resorts.
APP publications are resources, not standards. They describe considerations and common practices. Each resort’s policies and procedures, applicable law, and the judgment of trained patrollers govern patrol operations.
Thirteen domains, from risk management and mountain operations to medical care, avalanche operations, rope rescue and incident investigation. The reference for APP certification. In final review; to be released free to professional patrollers.
A field-facing introduction to professional patrol, written for patrollers entering the profession and experienced patrollers formalizing their practice. In final review; to be released as a free download.
